Milwaukee County Deputy District Attorney Lovell Johnson

Lovell Johnson graduated from Milwaukee Riverside High School in 1972 and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1978.  He graduated from North Carolina Central Law School in 1983 with his Juris Doctorate and passed the Wisconsin Bar in 1984.


In 1986, Lovell was sworn in as a Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney.  District Attorney E. Michael McCann appointed Lovell as Deputy District Attorney in 2005. 


Deputy Johnson supervises the General Crimes teams downtown consisting of 24 Assistant District Attorneys, the Delinquency Unit at Children’s Court, the IT Department and the intake clerical staff.  Since 2009, Deputy Johnson has served as the supervisor for the case management system PROTECT that is used state-wide.


Lovell and his wife have two sons and are members of St. Mark AME Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
